AWARD-WINNING PROJECTS
Over the past fifteen years, Matrix Structural Engineers has been a part of fifty-three award-winning projects that have won sixty-eight awards. Following are just a few of our award-winning projects:
ST. MARTIN'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH Houston, Texas
Client: Jackson & Ryan Architects
Completion: 2004
Construction Cost: $36.4M
Project Size: 61,600 square feet
The Gothic architecture was the church’s request; the design team’s job was to make it work in a $36.4 million budget. Work on design development started in December 2000 and the building had to be completed exactly 4 years later to be ready for the already scheduled pipe organ installation. The challenge was to replicate, in another material, the forms of an architecture based on load-bearing stone.
St. Martin's Episcopal Church was featured on the covers of three national magazines: the April 2005 issue of "Civil Engineering" magazine, the May 2005 issue of "Modern Steel Construction" magazine and the December 2005 issue of "Structure" magazine.

Construction Cost: $17.0M
Project Size: 85,000 square feet
The design team at Matrix Structural Engineers created a super truss, dubbed "Truss X", to solve unique constraints of the facility. The individual engineering concepts employed were not very unusual, but the method and combination of the concepts were certainly unusual. The result - a building that is both exciting and useful!
